donut crazy kids.....

donut crazy....I am referring to my kids :-) My husband came from a business trip in our homeland- the Philippines for 4 days. He came home home today in Danang with loads of donuts from Gonuts Donuts...My kids went crazy over them..It felt like I have not fed them donuts in a long time. Well, true enough. There are no Dunkin Donuts or Krispy Kreme here in Vietnam. All they have is Doco Donuts which my children totally dislike. Well, I think they're fine....it's just that the Donuts from Doco Donuts are not that soft doughy type.
Gonuts Donuts is a local brand in the Philippines but they can be compared to the more popular international brands such as Dunkin and KK.....really really good.

Leaving for VN

My husband left for Vietnam in March 2011 right after he signed the job offer.
On his departure day, I still vividly remember how difficult it was saying goodbye to each other as he sadly watched our kids still sleeping in bed. That was 4:30 a.m. He phoned me while waiting for boarding at the airport and it felt like it was the saddest day of my life. We were both in tears.

Invitation from Vietnam

My husband is a retail guy. He's been in this industry for more than 10 years, I guess. Before coming to Vietnam, hubby used to be employed in one of the biggest retailers in the Philippines.
The Vietnam job offer came in a form of an e-mail. At first, we thought it was one of those job scams being offered online. There were queries that needed some answering. So he responded and not so willingly e-mailed back the query form.
After a few days, there came a phone call from Vietnam....and then it led one after the other until they came up with an invitation to visit their country to meet him in person.
He was flown in by the company with hotel accommodations- all expense free of course!...then his final interview in Saigon finally took place. As soon as he was back in Manila, the offer sheet was already waiting in his inbox.
A few months after his visit in Vietnam, he found himself working in a foreign country where folks in pointy hats were once only seen in magazines and web photos.
I was happy and sad at the same time.

Welcome to Blogger Deedee!

I currently live in Vietnam with my entire family. For some reasons, wordpress blogs are inaccessible in this country. I do have a blog in wp which I have since neglected  when I  got pregnant with my third baby in 2010. About a month ago, I suddenly thought of my blog and probably, perhaps I can blog about my daily doings here in Vietnam. But then I couldn't log in. I searched the web and there....I was not alone.
Therefore, I am officially welcoming  myself here at Blogger.....good thing this isn't blocked here. My introspection as a regular mom, wife, and a dutiful daughter will definitely be on its way......
